Natures & IVs
Natures
Every Pokemon has 1 of 25 possible natures. Each nature increases one of the Pokemon's stats by 10% and lowers one by 10%. Some natures increase and decrease the same stat, thus having no effect (also known as "neutral" natures). The nature cannot be changed.
The best nature depends on the Pokemon and its role in battle. For example, Machamp favours physical attacks due to its high Attack stat, so a good nature would be one that raises it's Attack and lowers it's Special Attack, since the Special Attack typically won't be used.

IVs
An IV (Individual Value) is a number ranging from 0 to 31. Every Pokemon has an IV for each of its six stats (HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, Speed). They are randomly assigned when the Pokemon is encountered/purchased.
Each IV gives the Pokemon 1 stat point*. For example, if a Machamp has a 14 IV in Attack, it's Attack stat would be increased by 14 (at level 100).
* At level 100. At lower levels, a Pokemon may require multiple IVs to gain a single stat point.
- Shiny Pokemon IV range is 20 - 31
- Elite Pokemon IV range is 10 - 31
